Understanding the Levels

The levels for tutorials and modules are mean to help you choose material appropriate for your skill set. These are suggested levels only; please don’t let them discourage you from trying a topic that you are interested in!

The bulk of the material in The Versatile Musician is intended for folks of any level and you will often find many levels offered for each tutorial!

Here are the loose guidelines I used when choosing these labels.

Everyone: For students of any level.

Beginner: Appropriate for students starting from scratch, with minimal experience, or new to a topic (like jazz, improvisation, solfege, etc)

Intermediate: Appropriate for students with an existing background in the topic.

Advanced: Intended for people with a strong background in the topic.

When in doubt: TRY the lesson! Watch the video and see if it mostly makes sense.
